Christ's Love in Action

Sudanese Christians have long been persecuted by both their Muslim government and black Muslims from Western Sudan region of Darfur. The government hired Muslims from Darfur to eradicate the Christians in Sudan. For years these Christians have been killed, tortured and raped by their government and fellow citizens. However, the violent government of Sudan has given these Christians the opportunity to love their enemy.

Arab Muslims in control of the Sudan government have begun a war against black Sudanese. These are the same Muslims from Darfur that a couple of years they hired to kill Christians. This proves that the Arab government views all blacks as slaves, even black Muslims. The government has dropped bombs on civilians, raped their women and burned villages. The death count from this ethnic cleansing could be around 400,000.

Darfuri Muslims expected aid to come from other Muslim countries. Instead help has come from a very unexpected source: the Christian community from Southern Sudan. The same people who they tried to destroy are turning and providing them with food and water. "Sudan Mercy" is exemplifying Scripture's command to feed your enemy and forgive those who wrong you. Sudan Churches are partnering with Churches in the USA to supply needed items such as winter clothing and other humanitarian aid.

This is Christ's love in action people. Now, that's what I'm talkin about.
